Pastor Dave has served as Lead Pastor of Royal Oak Victory Church since 1996. He attended Bible College at ACTS Leadership Training Centre here in Calgary and served as Pastor of youth and evangelism for 5 years. Sensing God's call to move to Eastern Canada he and his wife Clarisse spent 10 years planting and pastoring a thriving church in Truro, Nova Scotia.
In 1995 he moved back to Calgary and has been leading our Church to be a loving community that serves God wholeheartedly and passionately reaches out to the culturally diverse and multigenerational city in which we live. He servers as an Executive member of the Board of Victory Churches International and travels extensively teaching and training pastors and leaders. He and his wife Clarisse have two grown sons and two adorable granddaughters.
Clarisse Meyers is an Associate Pastor at ROVC and is presently focusing on the areas of counselling and Marriage Ministry. She has been a Pastor for over 30 years and holds a Masters degree in Christian Counselling. She has been a wife to her husband for 32 years, all of which have been working together church planting in Nova Scotia, and as Lead Pastors at ROVC. She is also a mother, a mother-in-law, and a ridiculously doting grandma.
Upon completion of high school in Cochrane, Alberta, Pastor Sheldon attended a Discipleship Training School with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) in Lakeside, Montana. It was there that he felt called to pursue full time ministry and an accounting designation. With these two things seeming to be in opposition, he nevertheless decided to listen and obey and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2005 and came on staff full time in 2008. As Executive Pastor, Sheldon provides leadership of the staff and oversees the business aspects of ROVC. Sheldon is married to Pastor Mary and they have four beautiful children.
Sandy Landstrom has been attending ROVC since 1993. She and her husband Shane have 3 young adult children. Sandy served on the worship team at ROVC for over 7 years before becoming the worship director in 2003. In 2016, Sandy became an Associate Pastor, and now assists Ministry leaders through coaching, offers support to volunteers and is passionate about creative development. Her vision is to see every person at ROVC discover their talents and gifting, along with the true joy we experience in serving our awesome God within the local church.
Sherry Loewen has been attending ROVC since 1997. She and her husband Byron have 4 children. Sherry has served in many different ministries within the church and in 2014 came on staff to provide Pastoral Care Support and head up the Outreach Ministries. Sherry's passion is to show the love of God to those in need and those experiencing hardship in their lives. Sherry holds a Master's degree in Christian Counseling. She oversees the His Hand's Outreach Ministry at ROVC.
Dustin Bennett was born and raised in Calgary and has been attending ROVC for his entire life. In March 2014 he returned to Calgary having completed a Justice DTS through YWAM, and doing an outreach to Thailand, Asia. Dustin has been working with young people for over 5 years. He has a passion for equipping the next generation to come alive and to use their gifts to change the world.
Nick, along with his wife Melissa, have been attending ROVC since July 2012. After attending Victory Bible College (VBC) in 2004, he worked as a Associate Pastor in Saskatoon, SK. In 2009 he moved back to Calgary to work at VBC in a variety of roles. Among Nick's responsibilities at ROVC is the worship arts, creative, technical & service planning. He loves working at ROVC in this position and looks forward to supporting the staff and congregation in this role.
Andrea Fysh has been attending ROVC since 2008 and has been involved in the children's ministry for the majority of that time. Her heart is to see each child grow an unshakeable understanding of their precious identity in God, and develop a deep and lasting relationship with Jesus Christ. She is passionate about encouraging each volunteer to discover their gifts and by doing so serve with excellence and joy.
Joelle and her family have been attending ROVC since October 2009. She has a Diploma in Christian Leadership from Victory Bible College, where she also met her husband Jeremiah. Together they have 5 beautiful children and have been married since May 2000. She is passionate about children of all ages. Her goal is to see children develop a passion for Jesus Christ, to know who they are in Christ, and to reach the full potential God has for them. She joined the ROVC staff in August of 2012. Joelle has a heart for ministry and is excited to serve ROVC and for all that God has in the future.
Laura has always had two passions: nature and children. She is fascinated at the lessons God teaches us through the mechanics of nature and through our children. It is through these interests that Laura pursued her Bachelor of Science, arriving in Calgary in 2004 and completing it in 2007. She began attending ROVC upon arriving in the city and shortly after began volunteering in the Nursery ministry. In 2008, God began calling her into the area of Administration and she began working at ROVC in June 2010. Laura is married to Patrick and they have a beautiful daughter.
Dave and his wife Anita have been attending ROVC since November 2014. They have two adult children and one delightful grandson! Dave has a heart to be of service to others and enjoys working behind the scenes. He is excited for the opportunity to exercise his skills and gifts in making the operation of all the practical “happenings” at ROVC run smoothly in his role as Building Manager. Dave has a varied range of practical and administration skills demonstrated over his years of service with organizations such as YWAM and Entheos Retreat and Conference Center. He has also worked for periods of time in the construction industry, auto parts management and food services industry. Dave looks forward to working with other staff and volunteers to glorify God as He accomplishes His purposes at ROVC.
Beth has been attending ROVC since moving to Calgary in February 2014 to marry her longtime sweetheart, Dustin Bennett. Prior to that, she was serving in other churches within Victory, and did a Discipleship Training School with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) in Madrid, Spain.
Beth has a heart for ministry and in addition to administration, she helps develop and lead programs to disciple, mentor, and equip the next generation to love and lead like Jesus did.
Cooper grew up in Cochrane Alberta and spent the majority of his youth playing basketball. Upon graduation from Cochrane High School, Cooper went on to the University of Calgary where he played for the Dinos Mens Basketball team. After an injury pulled him from Basketball Cooper began searching for a bigger purpose in life and found Christ. In 2012 Cooper joined ROVC with his then girlfriend, now wife Chasity and has found the fulfillment that he was searching for. Cooper’s heart is to help as many people as possible come into a relationship with God so more lives can be transformed.
