Led by one or two individuals, these groups consist of small groups of people who meet together in a home, coffee shop, park, at the church, really anywhere, on a regular basis. There are groups for every demographic and every interest. Whether it is studying the Bible together, learning how to cook, playing sports, serving the community or any other area of common passion, the Connect Groups at ROVC are the place to experience community and to grow spiritually.
At ROVC, we run two types of groups. The first are our Ongoing Groups that meet throughout the year and are often focused on Bible study, prayer, and deeper reflection of the Sunday messages. The second are our Term Groups. These groups are generally focused on a topic, theme or general interest, and run for a specific length of time with an established start and end date. The Fall term begins in October and the Spring term begins in March. If you are new to ROVC, term groups are a great opportunity to connect with others in the church that have the same interests and passions you have.
We as a church are committed to intentionally building environments where honest transparent relationships lead to the process of growth and transformation in our lives. Our Connect Group ministry is a great place for that to happen.
Please review the groups below, and once you’ve decided what group(s) you will be attending. We're excited about what God is going to do during this next season and we look forward to seeing you step a little closer into the dynamic community of our Church.
This group is all about CONNECTING with each other, SHARING in our experiences and GROWING in relationship with Jesus together. This ministry is focused on meeting the needs of Young Adults in our city regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey. We have a safe and welcoming atmosphere that allows us to express ourselves freely while learning about faith in Jesus Christ.
Encounter is a group where young adults get together to discuss relevant topics found in scripture. We will also enjoy some great worship and engage in fun and challenging group discussion. If you are a young adult, then why not come and check us out!
We are the seniors of the Church who will not sit around knitting and wondering what to do next. We are intentional in our desire to develop relationships with each other and with God, through practical teaching, worship and fellowship. You will not go out the same as you came in!
This night is an evening of praise and worship with an opportunity to experience and grow in the gifts of the Spirit, practice hearing God’s voice and spend time glorifying Jesus! Join us for an amazing night in His presence.
Come out and meet new friends as we take turns sharing our favourite places around Calgary to walk our dogs. From city sidewalks to the plentiful pathway systems, you are sure to discover somewhere new, get some exercise, and enjoy great fellowship. This group is easy-going, easy-paced and is also open for dog-less walkers!
Join us in a relaxed atmosphere for moms and their small children where we get together each week to connect and encourage each other. We share coffee and laughter while the children play and interact. If you’re a mom with children ages 4 and under, then please join us as we have a great time together while the children have fun too!
PUSH is an ongoing prayer group that comes together each week to seek God and pray as He directs. Please join us as we lift up our families, church, city, and nation to the Lord for his mercies. In this challenging time that we live in, men and women need to pray, not to sleep. We look forward to praying with you.
Men and women of all ages, it’s time for another season of soccer! You will be energized, lose a few pounds, and re-discover your appetite for soccer. Polish your soccer boots and show us your skills. See you on the field!
Hey Men! You are invited to join us on our continued quest towards Authentic Manhood! This group challenges and equips us men to go below the surface. We will look deeper into our hearts, and explore some areas that are all too easy to ignore in our journey to becoming the men God has called us to be. This term we will think strategically about being a dad and prepare to launch healthy sons and daughters into the world.
